BYC Café

Do you have a build thread going?
No, but now I'm thinking it might be a good idea. Then I can tap into the collective genius of BYC.

The CAD software I used 20 years (Whatwaithuh?? 20 years?!?) ago was Expertcad. I did a lot of 2D, and a little of the 3D surfacing. I never used AutoCad. Can anyone recommend a down and dirty free CAD program that they like?

I never drew on the board, but saw some of my boss's old hand drawn work. Made me really appreciate the craft and style he had.

The drawing someone posted a few days ago (don't remember the thread) was NICE.

Good morning, cafe. Thanks for the two pots, DL and Sour. I need a cup for each hand this morning...

60°'s this weekend and 4" of snow this morning. This weather is depressing. We really do need the moisture, but some rain would be good. You know what the sunshine has brought us? Millions of baby grasshoppers. Oh no....not this again :thAccording the the extension office thing I was reading, we need good spring rains to drowned them. So here's hoping :fl

Good morning! Really fighting the urge to take a nap right now. Fighting it with another cup of coffee. Thanks for the fill up!

DH and I both had busy, productive weekends. I got 4 raised beds weeded, and the first coat of white paint on the wood that will be the coop addition. I want to paint the interior side before it's part of the coop, so as not to have paint fumes in there.

I told DH that I want open soffits for the additional ventilation in the coop. :)

It's supposed to be in the upper 20s the next three nights. I'll be coving up the strawberries.

In my weeding frenzy, I worked on some of the grass that is coming in by the garden fence. (It's surrounded by grass, so this is an ongoing fight.) I found some grubs in the soil, boo. Extra snack for the chickens, yay. Now I know to take the bug bucket with me when I go digging around.
Our different weather is up and running!

We were over 90F for the high yesterday and had to run the AC

I got my first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Saturday. Few side effects-- just a little pain in the arm, and was kind of drowsy on Sunday. I feel relieved to be started on the process.
Same here! Mine was the second Moderna vaccine and I did have a bit of tiredness and a slight fever.

Good afternoon everyone!

So, I arrived just in time to empty the two pots, thank you @sourland and @DobieLover :caf

After a long grey day with lots of rain, some rays of sunshine finally found their way through the thick clouds and it is warming up.

@DobieLover: Did you get your results back yet, hopefully all clear? And can I finally get my crossed fingers back? The dishwasher miraculously appeared today, just as I came back from running the dogs . So I need my fingers to get it started.
