BYC Café

It was. I fed it to the dogs.
One of the other reasons for the calcium infusion 2 days ago. I forgot to do it today so I'll get them in the morning.
But that's not the first egg I've had a hole poked in. Either she's got good aim for slightly defective shells or she's putting too much pressure on the eggs with those spurs.
Here's one from yesterday. Different hen laid this.

Have you ruled out the other reasons for thin shells besides calcium?

Good morning everyone!

Coffee is freshly brewed, so grab a mug and enjoy!

It is still raining incessantly and it's really getting old...

At least the chicks love their lukewarm chick-tea and seem healthy and vigorous despite the bad weather. They will be three weeks old on Sunday and will have to get their leg bands changed to the next size.
Sunday is also hatching day for my broody Wyandotte, so fingers crossed that all will come out well and healthy.

Looove the chocolate one in the middle with the dark face and cute forelock :love

But the weather forecast predicts some sunshine for this upcoming weekend, so who knows, maybe they did not lie this time?
We're saying the same about rain here.
Supposed to get more than an inch between Th night and Fr,
we need it bad.

Temps have dropped, just 50°F this morning.
Nice to have (more)clothes on again.

Broody went to roost last night, YES!
