BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

Yesterday got hotter than predicted. My face was red when I came in to wash up after unloading the first load of wood chips around the garden beds. I had grand plans to get another larger load after the temps dropped but by then I was done for.

My little Tonk (Sebright) aka "The Screamer" is full on broody now and got her self a complimentary ticket to the well appointed top floor crate in the run. She had lots to say about that and none of it's nice!
It's really hard to get frustrated about a bantam getting broody. They are just so darn cute about it! :love I think I'll release her 2 hours early tonight so she has to be removed from the nest again and I can record her reaction!
You could give her just two bantam eggs to set on...

Remember when I told the shocking story of seeing Fabio mount her? What kind of wacky little chicken would come from THAT pairing? And with my luck it would be a cockerel to boot!

Fabio might have mounted her, but did he actually manage to connect their cloacae?
I'd rather think Napoleon would have fertilized her.

Looked like he hit the target to me!
STOP ENABLING!!!!! I'm having a hard enough time getting through the breeding season without setting up the wet nest for any new arrivals!!!

I'll enable the other tact....PUT HER IN THE BREAKER CRATE! :D
You win! She's already there.
I'm still going to release her early so I can record her. She's so funny. I'm sure she thinks she a dangerous force to be reckoned with! Which makes it all the cuter!

Hi @pertnear09! :frow
I keep seeing you through the window but you never come in for a cup and chat. How are you doing these days? Is it hot down there?
Hello. Actually it's been really cool and rainy for quite some time. Pretty unusual for us but I'll take it. We're more than 6 inches above normal for the year. Just wish it'd dry out enough for me to mow. Starting to get a bit snakey.

I can relate! We've had lots of rain AND my mower is back at the mechanics house. I hope he get it back to me tomorrow. He's pretty good about turn around time. Far better than the local repair shops. My place looks messy and unkempt. I hate that.
