BYC Café

I used a stiff close collar, kept them from bending the neck far enough.
Those work well. They are basically a long neck brace that doesn't bash into the door jambs.
As long as the incision site doesn't get infected or irritated, my girls have always left it alone with proper pain management.

Is she on fake eggs?
Will you give her the partially incubated eggs on day 7?
Yes, and yes.
I'd rather she do the job than the incubator.
The guy bailed me out and it was great he was willing to help me out with the eggs but I told him that I had a hen that was teetering on the edge of broody insanity and if she tipped over to the dark side I would be letting her finish the job.
I was going to offer to gift HIM a cockerel but the guy already has about 12 cockerels/roosters in his flocks. Some really beautiful EEs. I was drooling!

Good morning, Cafe', and thanks DL. Maggie hates the Elizabethan collar , but is doing well.

Me too.
There are inflatables available said to be more comfortable and less intimidating for the dog (and the owner which will be whacked in the calf all the time by the hard plastic egde!):
