The situation is really bad, we drive out and realized the surrounding might take weeks to back to normal.

Thankfully we have a gas stove and can cook without electricity. Finally a coffee.

I've been through two disastrous floods. You are correct in stating that it's going to take several weeks to get back to normal. It's actually closer to several months. It takes a long time to be able to even start the cleanup and then repairs and procuring materials.
I'm glad that you are safe and at least able to function.

The vet just called to check on Maggie. Did I mention that the Princess forgot the collar at the clinic (a 45 minute drive). Remembered half way home and decided Pet Smart was a better bet than going back in the evening traffic. At 7:30 Jim, the vet, pulled in our drive with the collar. This is the same guy who spent the night sitting on his clinic floor with Dani's head in his lap when she was dying. I'm not certain they are still making this model of man.

our vet is an old farm vet---still does barnyard calls. His son and daughter in law are practicing with him now---hope the apple didn't fall far from the tree..

As we are safe and capable to cook, we make a stew to firefighters in the town, they're heroes.

Many people their cars are all damaged, and the supermarkets in the surroundings also close due to the power shortage, we went to some distance and got one Lidl open, so we made 25 sandwiches for the neighborhood. Will keep doing tomorrow, good night
