Skinning is easy with cockerels. It is harder with older chickens though. All set up to slaughter cockerels in the morning.
Really looking forward to a simpler process, hope it works as well as I am imagining.
If skinning works well, might even preserve some hackles and saddles.
That's what I'm hoping...these guys are only 16wks.Skinning is easy with cockerels. It is harder with older chickens though.
What will you make out of those? If skinning works well, might even preserve some hackles and saddles.
Not scalding and plucking...or gutting.dip the bird in boiling water makes it eaiser did a couple cockerels I grew up for dinner..
My folks left skins on but are we wiser to take them off now?
Gonna use CD to kill, then skin enough to filet breasts and harvest thighs, legs, upper wings.
Thanks!Good luck tomorrow.

Ah, interesting. Not sure, just curious and want to try the process.
They are often used for fly tying.
