Junkyard 1/2 mile away was on fire this afternoon.
BIG explosion, shook my house and scared the shit out of me.
.....as I was reading a book about a mysterious loud noise.

The littles have been in their half of the run for 2 1/2 weeks now. My bottom of the pecking order hen still wants to peck/bite whatever she can reach through the separating fence.

Mine are out with the older hens but then I
a) had a hen raising them until they were 6 weeks old so they had protection
b) have more room
They still have to run some but they get their share.

She is trying to make sure THEY aren't above her in the pecking order.

Until they get older and rise above her. That hen is Penelope, 2015 batch. Now she is only higher than the 8 week old chicks.
