BYC Café

We bought our fridge, washer, and dryer used when we moved in 27 years ago. Delivered, installed, the three for $500. We replace the washer. The fridge and dryer are still running fine. Fridge has to be 35 years old. It doesn't owe us a thing.

Yeah, I know it's an electric hog. But I had seen 2 (!) fridges come and go in the 12 years I was in my job at the last location. Ditto with the dishwashers.

They really, really don't make 'em like they used to.
Ditto Dat.
My washer and dryer are 30yrs old.
Not sure the age of this fridge, but it was here when I bought the place 22 years ago.
It's avacado, so probably older, maybe even original to house built in '76.
Plus I love the configuration of doors.
But it keeps cutting out...am anxious and undecided.

Seems like Duluth ralphie used to use one similar to that only it was animated. If memory serves me right he was asked to not use it. That's all according to my memory and it's kinda slipping lately.
Well never been chastised so we will see I will let you know

Good morning Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Sour. Good luck at the field trial. How many dogs are you running?

Speaking of running dogs, I need to head out with mine.
The owners of the land with the cabin are having the land logged. The loggers are making a horrible mess of the forest.
The paths are all demolished.
Lots of standing trees damaged.
And they leave huge piles of branches behind that they don't want.

This huge wasp nest was scrapped off the back of the cabin a few days after the trees started to fall. I guess they don't like the results any more than I do.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! Logging..., unfortunately, there is not enough of it done around here and the forests are way overgrown and now all of the trees are very stressed and dying. I think if logging is done in a way to mimic what the natural fire cycle would make the forest look like then it can be a good thing, but I agree with you when it is done for greed and it doesn't make the forest healthier. The forests out here, like most of the ones in the west, have been allowed to become overgrown and not in a "natural cycle" state and now we are in trouble!
However, not in as much trouble as the people in the path of Ida and my heart goes out to them. This is going to be a wreck!
Good luck today, Sour, and have fun! Everyone, have the best day possible and do something fun! Hugs!

DL, I've seen the "after pictures" of logged areas before; so NOT pretty. :(

On a happier note, I have a puppy sleeping next to me. :)

Chicken integration is going well, I think. We'll see how lockup goes tonight. I have the "mean" hen Lark (lowest in the pecking order, so she wants to peck the chicks non-stop) in a big dog crate. Right now she is stressed because she can't get to her nest box to lay. If it weren't for her, this would have been much easier...

She's just being a chicken.
