BYC Café

I thought we already covered this.
You will of course install them when you are prepping the area for the new vanity.
Yep we did! And it still annoys me no end.

I might do that, I'll probably have to shut off both bathrooms at the same time since one is over the other. Not sure I have access to the PEX going upstairs. But the nice thing is I can put the shut offs near the entrance to the crawl space.

Put the shutoffs right inside the vanity, where the supply pipes come up thru the floor/wall.

Knock on wood, the integration went well. :fl

I let Lark out last night at dusk, and she made a bee line for the coop and was on the roost in a minute. Big sigh of relief. (But it was almost dark; she couldn't see the chicks anyway.)

This morning, I got everything ready early, then opened up a few minutes later than usual, so I could see what was going on. Darl (roo) and the chicks came out right away. I had spread feed loose on the ground in several spots, and they had something to "discover."

Next out was my head hen. Then the last two, including Lark. I sat for about 40 minutes. All was fine; she ignored them for about 20 minutes. Then she pecked them and chased them a couple times, but nothing serious.

I have a window open (just a bit; it's wonderfully chilly out!) so I can hear any screeching, should something really bad go down.

I know, it's early hours in early days yet, but so far... so good.

Sounds good!
The chicks got some time to acclimate, and bully might have been broken being confined.
That's what I'm hoping. I have to say, I didn't realize I was doing a gut clench until I sat out there to watch and saw... nothing.

I was channeling a very old Bonnie Prudden record (bonnie prudden keep fit be happy):
"Pull in the abdominals, hold it, hold it, hold it... and relax."

I can still hear her voice... :gig

Good morning! Rain here today and so maybe inside chores are in order.
That will be a well-deserved vacay, DL!
We met our new little grandson yesterday! DS@ and his wife have agreed to foster and hopefully adopt a cousin of my first son's wife. He is a sweet little guy and DH and he hit it off very well wandering around Walmart (you could hear the giggles and belly laughs)
while we did some serious shopping in the baby aisle. It was and is an amazing experience and as my DILs say, "Let the Adventure begin!"

That is what is there now which means I can't take them off to put in the vanity (unless I put very large holes in the back of it) without turning the water off to the entire house. I've had those quarter turn under sink/toilet valves go bad. In my prior house, which I plumbed, I could go to the basement and shut off the water to the one room.

Similarly, when the shower valve in the upstairs bathroom here went bad I had to shut off the whole house. Then I installed valves inside a downstairs closet because it took a couple of weeks for the new valve to come. All that would have been unnecessary if the plumbers had spent $10 and 20 minutes to put them in when they did the rough plumbing. Would have saved be a bunch of time.
