BYC Café

Yes, DS@ will be heading home again from CA on Thursday? He has been on the French fire. It has definitely been rough this year and there are some morale issues in the crew.
We will see if he re-ups for next year or goes for something else. I would imagine that there isn't much left to burn by the time this season gets over with. I haven't seen a current fire scar map from the last few years, but the amount of area burnt is incredible!
Sour, glad Maggie Mae had a great time!
I am happy for your friend, Sally!
I am off to a HS reunion this week so take care and have fun while I am gone.
:wee
The new one is called the bridge fire and it is up out of Sacramento

Sunday my son got married - good news for a change.

Then just now my brother called to say he fell and he's in such and such hospital. He's the youngest of 3 siblings. Our sister is the oldest, I'm the middle kid and our brother is 71. He also has diabetes since college, and had a 5 way bypass some time ago. I think he was due for a new pacemaker but I could be wrong.

Getting old isn't the fun I thought it would be. Though, when I look back, being young wasn't fun either.:idunno
I hope he is out of the Hospital soon!

Oh dear, hopefully it was just the pacemaker and he will be alright soon.

Yes, getting old is not for the faint-hearted, but is has its merits too. Although I sometimes struggle to see them.

Thanks for the coffee!

We got about an inch of rain yesterday. It really poured hard a couple of times. "Can't see across the lawn" hard. Supposed to be cool today and tomorrow too. Sounds good to me!

I couldn't get to sleep last night, and my nap this morning was interrupted by Freya barking at the washing machine spin noise. But just the first time. I told her it was ok, and she was quiet the rest of the time. We feel we really hit the jackpot with her.

@DobieLover, I have a chemistry question... In terms of getting a chemical burn on your skin, which is worse: a strong concentration of a weak acid, or a weak concentration of a strong acid? Someone told me once, and I don't remember the answer, just the question.🤪

The weak concentration of a strong acid.
A strong acid is one like hydrochloric or sulfuric. But one drop of that in a drum of DI water isn't going to hurt anything.
Acetic acid (vinegar) is a weak acid, 3-9%. I eat it every day on my salad. But glacial acetic acid, 99.7%, is corrosive and can burn skin on contact.
