good morning everyone! coffee, vacations, double yolkers, and canning. me--I'm cleaning kitchen cabinets---anybody want some expired food?

It is such a pretty day outside, but I'm staying close to stir the salsa I'm cooking down. That's my excuse for hanging out on BYC!
Autumn days are so busy and always too short to get everything done! That's why I often cook the marmelades and applesauce in late evening, so I can get some yardwork and chicken chores done while there is still enough light.
Morning Cafe brought the 5 home yesterday doing salsa here today cook it down then seal it in jars...
And I became a teenager. Not sure if everyone would agree that was a great thing though.
You could go up Mount Washington
I've never done that, might take my sister when she visits in a couple of weeks. Have to plan for a good day though, no sense going up and looking at pea soup.Oh, you must live like we do. Condolences.
If it is coming out of the cabinets it is probably still good.

Last week, I emptied a box of powdered milk making bread. I was breaking down the box for recycle and saw the use by date: Jan 2011. I've been using it to make bread (only need 1/2 cup per recipe) for 6 months...

Today we hiked a portion of the Appalachian trail. The suspension bridge freaked out Bella, but she did it.
This place was shockingly beautiful. The pictures can't possibly do it justice. We're going back tomorrow for another hike.
It's a rare day indeed that I will allow my picture to be taken. Dave has an exceedingly hard time doing it. He can't hold steady and pushes too hard on the button. I propped the camera up on a boulder for him and aimed it in the general direction I wanted for the background. It took over a dozen shots before getting this one. He got all three of us and I was so happy for him I couldn't help but to share.
This picture breaks my heart a little. I kept saying "smile!" and he just kept repeating me. I finally have him a big smile and he got it
He spotted lots of newts.
And this covered bridge was less than 2 miles away. Had to go.
Then drove out to this one.
We had dinner at the Rustic Rooster.
There's a rooster statue out front I wanted. They wouldn't let me have it.
