BYC Café

Today is salsa day. Make, cook down, can. Tomorrow, I'll can what's left of the tomatoes I bought. Then put the canner away until it's applesauce time.
Autumn days are so busy and always too short to get everything done! That's why I often cook the marmelades and applesauce in late evening, so I can get some yardwork and chicken chores done while there is still enough light.

and, I was born!!
And I became a teenager. Not sure if everyone would agree that was a great thing though.

I'm looking for another ski mountain to drive to the top of today.
You could go up Mount Washington ;) I've never done that, might take my sister when she visits in a couple of weeks. Have to plan for a good day though, no sense going up and looking at pea soup.

I did, however, clear off the table. That was a much more time consuming endeavor.
Oh, you must live like we do. Condolences.

I'm cleaning kitchen cabinets---anybody want some expired food?
If it is coming out of the cabinets it is probably still good.

Photo barrage coming...

Wright's covered bridge. This one we couldn't easily access. It's a rail bridge.

Pier covered bridge.
My favorite! A walking bridge along the Sugar River Trail.

And a stop to a totally different Simon Pearce Glass Store netted me these lovely pieces.
I couldn't resist the pumpkin!

The bowl was a second but still over $115. I love the colors and they'll look great on the island. Meet my new fruit bowl!

And my friggin' gas mileage!! We hadn't filled the tank since leaving home. This was my average mpg when we stopped in New Hampshire to top up. We could have continued another 108 miles.

Have I mentioned how much I love this car?!
Great pics Ichabod! Glad you didn’t have any headless horsemen chasing you.

I love your new pumpkin. Great souvenirs!

Sorry. Here I go again...

Today we hiked a portion of the Appalachian trail. The suspension bridge freaked out Bella, but she did it.

This place was shockingly beautiful. The pictures can't possibly do it justice. We're going back tomorrow for another hike.

It's a rare day indeed that I will allow my picture to be taken. Dave has an exceedingly hard time doing it. He can't hold steady and pushes too hard on the button. I propped the camera up on a boulder for him and aimed it in the general direction I wanted for the background. It took over a dozen shots before getting this one. He got all three of us and I was so happy for him I couldn't help but to share.

This picture breaks my heart a little. I kept saying "smile!" and he just kept repeating me. I finally have him a big smile and he got it

He spotted lots of newts.

We had dinner at the Rustic Rooster.
There's a rooster statue out front I wanted. They wouldn't let me have it.
