I am a plant junky. I just love walking around the nurseries.
I just ordered a bunch of aggregate foam insulation boards to attach to the foundation wall for insulation and to dress it up and make a clean backdrop for the plants.

If they look good, I think I'll frame out the area under the porches/deck and stairs and attach them there too. I'll just leave a gap around the bottom backed with hardware cloth and screening to keep bees and critters out and let air flow through.

DS$ is looking at a Construction Management degree

That would be a very fun job! Good for him that he know what he wants.

So, let me pick the collective brain trust here...

I have a hen who last laid Aug. 29, because she started molting. Her feathers are growing in nicely, but her comb and wattles are still shrunken and pale. I'm thinking she won't lay again until after the solstice, but maybe not until spring. Any thoughts?

A second hen stopped in early September, so she's probably in the same boat. My last hen is still laying, and I am a bit surprised, but grateful.

Come on pullets, come on! I actually ate some store bought eggs. Bland!

Yep.
Unless you start use lights in mid december to jump start them.
