I need to get my tarps up. If it's not raining too much tomorrow I'll do it then.
I also need to get the front landscaping mulched.
And I hope that we get to finalize the aviary by tomorrow, as the next wave of Avian Influenza started here in Germany. Several states already report outbreaks and we can only hope that this time we will be lucky enough to not have to coop up the poultry in our county.

I hope we do not get that here again!

Every year it starts at the same time in the same areas: regions of extreme industrial poultry farming, housing turkeys.

Well, and of course bird migration started as well.
Here it has happened during migration-- Geese and etc. would "drop" the influenza as they flew over.

This is a picture of two Barnevelder chicks:

Your can see how soft they are!

I wouldn't be able to compare their softness to the softness of my Barnevelders.
I don't think my Barnevelder was particularly soft. Now Nyx, my (not) Black Ameraucana (from BBS), is super soft.

Is a Silkie really a chicken?
Excellent question! Especially when they are also frizzled.
