What a lovely photo. Makes me miss coffee reeeeeally badly, though. I love heavy cream in mine. Now I'll go make my dandelion root tea. Y'all enjoy the java for me!

We finally got the piers poured for the coop! Next step: construction. Hubs and I have left a trail of sheds from Florida to Montana, but we'd never done one on such sloped ground, and the hubs is a stickler for extremely perfect building. So now the piers are in (and admittedly overkill, foundation-wise), we can begin. After looking at all the chicken breeds so long (well over five years), you'd think I'd know what breeds I want to raise.

Actually, I do know what breeds I want. I want them all.

We woke up to a white world this morning - heavily dusted with snow squalls predicted for the day. The chickens are hiding from the wind in the coops. We'll be winterizing the runs this week now that the temperature is dropping finally.

Ground was snow covered late last night, this morning it was mostly gone and eaves are dripping.
Gonna try to move those feed bags full of old bedding out into the woods using the handtruck. Will work, but won't be as fun or easy as hauling it all at once with the tractor trailer.
