BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. I know it's early but I made a pot of coffee anyway.
Bella doesn't like all the wind and rain. The front yard has a river flowing through it and the wind was strong enough to blow a piece of fascia off the back of the house right outside the window Bella sleeps under. She refused to go back to bed.

Morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee Tonya!

Are you in any danger in flooding?

Not up here.
The river will hit the Action stage this evening. There are ice jams in the creeks and parts of the river that may push the water over the banks.

When Bella woke me up at 2 I could see our own little river flowing through the front yard. It's now frozen.

Apparently.
I ended up in the ER three times. The third time was on the morning my surgery was scheduled. It was postponed because I'd had 3 attacks in 5 days. As in pain so severe I couldn't walk upright attacks.
The day before surgery the doc sent a scope down my throat, into my stomach and into the duct that drains the gall bladder. Didn't see any stone stuck in there so they squeezed me in for late surgery the following day.
Mind you I'd had nothing to eat for three days at this point. I woke up late that night needing to pee something fierce but my abdomen was sore from them poking holes through it. A nurse helped me to the bathroom. After I was finished I just sat there because my head was spinning.
The nurse got impatient and knocked on the door asking if I was okay.
I said "I'm dizzy".
She said "Don't get up".
I said "No sh!t"
She waited all of 5 seconds after that before coming in to get me.
I complained, "I'm still dizzy".
She said "I'll help you..."
I ended up dropping to the floor like a sack of potatoes and faintly remember her screaming for another nurse to come help her.
I woke up on my back in my bed while she and the male nurse were jerking me around and examining my abdomen for infection. I heard the male nurse say "Geez. What did they do to her?" :lau
Oh my lordy, that's horrific! :th

Glad i don't need to quit smoking, because i never started. Not doing well on cutting out sugar. Quitting Coke or Pepsi was bad enough.
My mom (who smoked) told us kids that the best way to quit was to never start. I took that to heart.

One thing that helped "get me off" pop (soda) was kombucha tea. Slightly sweet, fizzy, and full of probiotics. I make my own, because it ain't cheap.
Sugar may be more addictive. And it's put in EVERYTHING!
Read The Case Against Sugar. Sugar is this century's tobacco. It's the 4th ingredient in the ranch dressing I have in the fridge! WHY??

To keep you coming back for more.

This is why I don't eat that stuff any longer. All my salads are dressed with some kind of oil and vinegar. Balsamic is my favorite. Even then you have to read the label to make sure no additional sugar was added.
