Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made.
I've been trying to work out exactly what a stick shift is.
They are called manual here as opposed to automatic. Never had an automatic.
Had both floor gear stick and column shift vehicles and of course foot shift on motorbikes. I guess I can shift with both hands and feet. having driven left and right handed cars and bikes.

When I took driver's ed, the only manual they had for the kids to drive was the school truck, and it was 3 on the tree. I wasn't driving when this happened (thank God!), I was in the back seat, having had my turn already.

We were going back to the school, turning left, and the shifter came out of the column, in the middle of the intersection. The student was saying, "Now what do I do, Mr. Guild?!?"

Mr. Guild said, rather calmly, I thought, "Try to put it back in so we can get out of the way."

He got it put back in, and we got out of the way. Mr. Guild was so calm about the whole thing.

They aren't that common any longer. Probably easier to get it in a truck than a car. I had manual in all my trucks.

Nope. Some cars don't have that as an option anymore. Sigh. I prefer a manual.

DH and I need to do that this year. It's been several years since we got our eyes checked and we probably need new prescriptions.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It has been a bit? chaotic around this place but the papers are filed for custody of the little GS so he can stay here in CO and now the judge will decide on the proper home. The snow is trying to melt but we keep getting more and it is either record cold or record warm and people are running out of firewood and panicking over their propane/electric bills.
