So now I have a conundrum. Do I sell the Sebright trio or do I rehome Remington??
I really like my Sebrights and Napoleon is a real character (when he isn't trying to force a hen to be his). BUT I would like a smaller flock and it's just a matter of time before the battle with Tonk begins and I have her in a broody breaker more often than she's with the flock.
On the other hand, Remington's aberrant behavior may insight Ace to go after her. BUT I've seen her go after Ace to drive him of my little d'Uccle hen, Jody. AND she was so much better with her confidence this spring. Could she come around without Napoleon here to harass her?
In case you plan to switch to bantams, keep Napoleon and his girls.

In case you just want to reduce the amount of birds and prefer to have good egg layers, keep Remi. She might regain some confidence after getting rid of the main harasser/instigator, but you never know until you try.

Or you provide a separate coop and run for the bantams, just as @sourland suggested...:D

I'm leaning towards selling the Sebrights. Now I'm trying to decide if I sell all three or just a pair.
If all 3 go, Jody, the d'Uccle will be the lone bantam in the flock. So now I'm thinking about just letting the broody nut, Tonk, and the little guy go.

Why not let the d'Uccle join the trio and rehome the 4 together?
I thought of that too. I quite like my bantams and hate to give any of them up. I'm looking for a compromise that brings back a little peace to the flock but doesn't remove too much diversity and personality. I'll miss little Napoleon. I really really like that little guy.

I almost fell in love with him, such a cute little thing! It is a tough decision to make and perhaps Remi would be happier in a roosterless flock. :idunno

I know it's hard to see but that's Remi standing on the rear perch silhouetted in the sun. Her right eye was all the way open this morning. She also ran out for seed with the flock.
I'm sure she's far happier being with her flock than locked up all alone in the ward.

Sunny and bright, but COLD! It's warmed all the way up to 20 degrees now.

DH is in Pittsburgh, working on an install with coworkers. He was supposed to fly out yesterday, but the flights got cancelled/delayed, so they drove. He was VERY glad of that; he was dreading the flight.

So many things I'd do outside if it were warmer. Most of them involve getting my hands into the dirt. Which is frozen now. This March has been crazy! And April is the cruelest month, so I'm gonna keep my head down and slog it out until May. :)

Maggie just had a major seizure. Heard thrashing in the dining room and thought that the Princess had gotten up and that Maggie was greeting her. Instead I found her thrashing on the floor. I've had dogs with seizures before and generally can ease/talk them out of the seizure. Didn't work with her. As she was coming out she started screaming and tried to bite me. I think she thought I was causing the seizure. She was scared of me for a bit, but now is extremely clingy. I've called our vet and am waiting for a call back. This scared/scares me, and I don't scare easily when it comes to my animals.
