Son and DIL arrived for the weekend yesterday. After they arrived and had been greeted, Maggie kept going to the picture window and staring at the parking lot. I finally figured out that she was looking for our grand daughter. On the last visit she came along, and Maggie and her played for an entire weekend. Have to marvel at the intelligence/memory of dogs.
Right this moment they are being packed and prepared for shipping...GORGEOUS eggs LF!!
I see they are marked. Are they heading for the bator?
Was 26F in coop during chores this morning, up to mid 40's later.
Snow to rain tomorrow.
Yes, a part of the extended pack missing is what they notice immediately.
When the phrase 'April showers bring May flowers' was coined, I doubt that they were referring to snow showers.

I've been keeping DH very involved with open discussion about his pending move to the Homestead site at the foot of the hill.
When we spent last Friday together hauling lumber, at one point he was choking up when I was talking about the move. I had to pull over to try to get him to tell me what was wrong. Was it just that he didn't really want to go or that he didn't like the site I picked or what. He actually said that he wanted me to go there with him.
Poor guy.
I then went rambling on about how this move was going to be a very good thing for both of us and kept telling him, "you're not getting rid of me so easy, mister". You'll still be coming home once a week to spend the day with me, I'll still come get you at least one morning a week to walk in the fields with the dogs, and take you on shopping runs, etc. That calmed him down and made him smile. I then stopped outside the house he'll be moving to and pointed to the window that will be his bedroom and told him how I'd come get him and look how close it is to home. You'll have two homes soon.
I hope that sticks with him because he'll be moving in on Memorial Day and that's coming up fast. This is going to be hard for both of us and I don't know what else I can do to make it easier for him. But not doing it is going to kill me I think. I had just a little taste of me being me that day I was moving the lumber and I felt so good again for a little bit of time.
