BYC Café

Ok, quick poll: Which have you had, progressives, or bifocals, or both? Did you prefer one over the other?
I've only had progressives...but can't imagine only having two magnifications to see thru.
The first Op told me I would hate them, but I had to spend a couple weeks adjusting before I came back for lines. I had been using cheaters for reading for a few years, but once reading street signs got really bad I buckled and got an exam. He told me it was a good thing I hadn't had the testing done at the DMV or they would have taken my license.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee. AC crapped out last night. They are going to 'TRY' to get here today from the owner - his wife says she can't see how, but I have always been 'oh so pleasant' when dealing with them and have a great relationship. We may have to go to a motel tonight. The Princess is not pleasant when overheated.

I probably won't be getting new glasses until we're back from Maine. Sure won't be going to Lens Crafters, either. ;)
I have both. One pair of progressives works fairly well for reading. The other pair is not very good for reading but good for distance.

I use the bi focals mostly for driving. They work well for both reading and distance.

Good afternoon Cafe.
We are going to have to learn how to build houses that don't need air conditioning eventually. Such a waste of energy.
That might work in some places but not here! Sacramento is predicted to have triple digit days 30% of the year in another 30 years.

People die here, like they did in Seattle Washington last summer, without AC. We open cooling centers for those without it each summer.

A builder from the SF Bay area build houses in Davis CA with passive cooling in the 1970s. The owners had to retrofit AC into the houses since the cooling did nor work.
