I used to love having a wood burning stove. There is no heat quite like it.It's a challenge (game?) to me to keep the furnace off as long as possible. It doesn't take much of a fire in the woodstove to keep the house warm this time of year. I'm aiming for November 1, or later, for the "burnt dust" smell, when the furnace comes on for the first time. We'll see how we do.
We didn't get frost last night, as the clouds stuck around. But the sky is clear now, so it'll probably happen tonight. If I need to, I'll toss some logs on the fire in one of my 3-4 bathroom trips tonight.
The battery is fine.Is it time for a new battery too?
