Must be that new and better feed. Couldn't possibly the increasing daylight period.
Nope! I'm switching back to the "better" feed tomorrow. :lau

I thought I'd do my own "experiment." So I fed my chickens some Purina Flock raiser instead of the usual Kalmbach Flock Maker. Both 20% protein, and some other numbers match too. Since I wanted to keep this experiment cheap and short, I bought 2 five pound bags of Purina at TSC.
Behold and lo! The very next day, I got 2 eggs! :thI've gotten 8 eggs in the past 6 days. The 6 days before that, 3 eggs.

Not poking fun at anyone who thinks they got crappy food from TSC. I think it is much (MUCH-MUCH) more likely my girls were needing more hours of daylight, and specifically, some actual SUNLIGHT to get into production. We had more of that in the first 4 days of February than in the entire month of January.

I had my first post-molt egg on December 4th. Just a dribble of production, though. Nowhere near what I got these past 6 days of my "experiment."

Bella did well with a few things in class tonight. Within a dozen repetitions, she picked up "bow".
She went over the jump without much encouragement but was sliding on the floor so I didn't ask her to do that more than 3 or 4 times.
She did 2 passes through the weave polls.
The tunnel... "no stinkin' WAY am I going in there and I don't care that you threw practically an entire bag of treats in there. Go get 'em yourself!"
We did get her to jump through it after we collapsed it down to about 8" long instead of about 16' long!

Good morning, Cafe', and thanks for the coffee. @DobieLover had a mental picture of you having to crawl into the tunnel to retrieve treats. :lau Might give it a try to encourage Bella?
Not happening!
There was another dog that was so happy about going in the tunnel you could see her tail bapping the insides of it all the way down. We sent her in for clean-up duty. I tried to get Bella to watch her do it. Nope. Not going in there...
Half the point of these classes was confidence building. Remember how terrified she was of the outdoors when I first got her?
