BYC Café

Good evening Cafe. I've brought a pot of tea.
I don't have a TV and I'm not a great film watcher either. What I've loved to be able to do is listen to music through a decent stereo system. I listen to something most days.
Some readers may remember in the Catalonian chicken pictures the large speakers at the end of the room along with the rest of the equipment. When I moved to this flat, it's one of 50 in an enclave for people over 55, it was apparent that my rather large and loud loudspeakers were not likely to be appreciated by any of the 49 surrounding flats.:p They had to go.

For a while I resigned myself to headphones. A few months ago I decided that I would buy some studio monitors for nearfield listening with a matching sub bass unit. You can correct most frequency problems in the room with digital signal processing that comes with the monitors.

Anyway, a couple of crash barrier support posts and a bit of woodwork later I had speaker stands.

You have to set these things up and the first day I managed to shake one picture off the wall and a cup off one of the book/display shelves.

I got them sorted out eventually and haven't been evicted.:D

They sound wonderfull.

Thank you for the coffee! My new forecast is 2 nights of single digits, around 8 inches of snow, "very windy" at 55 mph, so I really don't know what to expect.
Shad, would the 55+++ not make it easier to have loud speakers?
Anyway boys and girls, it is Valentine's Day in case there is reason to be informed.
Happy Cafe Day!
