Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. Today it will be rainy and warm. My yard will stay swampy until June...

Maybe add sand or gravel. Or possibly french drains.

Dh is out scouting for "volunteer" firewood that came down in the wind the last couple days. Right now, it's sunny, chilly, breezy. Sunny, I'll take it; the rest can just come along, because I can't do anything about it.

I bet by this time tomorrow, I'll have a daffodil in bloom.

It is 18F and "just a lil breezy" out there.
Not feeling too sore from the start on the chainsawing for the season. Hour and a half maybe. Got a tractor bucket ride up to about head high to take off limbs that would make the tree twist in an unpredictable way before I dropped it.
Today we shall see what fun may yet appear. Kinda done with the wind, but it is just cranking up at 60 supposed to get to 75ish in a day or so. I was supposed to go snowshoeing with some friends, but a multi-day wind event will probably impact that. LOL!
Go dance in the rain and have fun!

Most of our daffodil blooms have died off already. It has been pretty dry here. Photo from earlier this year.

There is only about a foot or so of topsoil sitting on hardpan clay. It just doesn't want to drain that fast when we get as much rain as we did and the ground isn't fully thawed. It's like this every spring.

This is what the cabinets look like when they come to me.
This is the box.

The drawers come assembled but without the drawer glides or fronts. You have to figure out what fits where once the box is assembled.

The drawer fronts are all wrapped separately along with the doors. Again you have to just match things up.

Having sat in a closed off room for 6 years, all of the wood had some mild mildew growing on it that was very easily cleaned off. There's also some minor warpage of the panels but I'm getting everything together.
And here's a little PSA: do not smash your left thumb with the hammer when assembling the cabinets. It makes a bloody mess.

I have 1.25 acres. That's a lot of holes!
I'm not going to worry too much about it until it's time to mow. Hopefully the sun and wind will have things dried up by then.
