Good morning and thanks for the coffee. We have 53F and rain. A solid week of rain coming in. I/ DH acquired 28 more chickens this morning and so far I have not lost any due to the altitude. Fingers crossed that they all have strong hearts!

I must be looking really old today. I was at Home Depot putting bags of water softener salt in a cart when another shopper asked if I needed help. I thanked him and assured him that I had things under control.

Good morning Cafe we both where late getting up 9:30.
Yesterday I dropped a gallon of milk in Safeway.
Boom, all over the floor.

Damn, napped thru the 10 minute thunderstorm!
Looks like it dropped the temp 10°, and wet the shed roof a bit, but it's going right back up.

The air pump to the pond crapped out in the heat. I hope it has some kind of over-temp shut off mechanism and it isn't just fried. I had a back up and put it on line but it only has a single output. I will have to buy fittings to split the air and run the filter and bottom drain at the same time. I have the filter running only.
The fake rock I have covering it must be trapping heat. I'll have to figure out how to protect the pump and camo it for the summer.

I just got home from the nursing home after feeding DH and helping him get settled. I was very clear about wanting to know what speech therapy has to say about his aspiration risk and what the rehabilitation plan and goals are. I was quite pleased with the kind nature and thorough communication of each and every employee I met while there.

After leaving, I contacted the money grubbing "senior life advisor" at the Hearth to tell her I was moving DHs things out of the Hearth and she started in stating that their nurse had to evaluate him to determine if it was medically necessary that he not return. Otherwise, I had to give 30 days notice to terminate. To which I replied that they were notified by me 12 days ago that DH was admitted to the hospital. If they failed to contact hospital staff to coordinate that visit during the last 12 DAYS that's on them, not on me.

I also informed her that I spoke face to face with one of the doctors attending his care in the hospital and that doctor said that DH's level of care requirements at this point were more than the Hearth could handle. Oh, and the additional "enhanced care level" fee that they've been pre-charging DH for months will be refunded from 5/20 to 5/31. She didn't like hearing that either. Tough.

Probably next week for air here. Not over like 64 last couple days.
They say we will be in the 70's by weeks end. No rain in sight for 9 days or more.
