Any chance that some of them went broody and have started a clutch out in the woods?. I have 7 missing from the old girl/this year’s baby coop
Yes. He can't pick up his head so I think that might be a factor. No one knows why he wants to get on the floor.Is this DH?

They all free range, so it’s a possibility, but that’s a lot of (hatchery) chickens to all go broody and disappear at once. I had a little bantam hen that would wander off and do that a few years ago. Egg production has also suddenly dropped in half, but I’m thinking the heat is a major factor right now. Yes. He can't pick up his head so I think that might be a factor. No one knows why he wants to get on the floor.
But I would imagine with his head always being in that position it would make him even more unstable. So he keeps falling and hitting his head.
