Good morning. I'm working on another pot of coffee.
It's hard to get old and incompetent after a life of mad skills and stubborn independence. BooHooHooHoo. :hit
This was my mother's second lamentation about the ageing process. Her first was the fact that so many of the people she cared about had already died. I am starting to understand.

Yeppers.
I remember my mother saying the same.
I have lost a half dozen 'contemporaries' in the last few years.

Molting Season...SMH...not only the lack of eggs but the plethora of feathers all over the poop boards. Hard to herd into the pile, then they get stuck in the sifter mesh. SMH.

Got a broody due to be released later today....another lack of eggs there.

Trying to enjoy the lovely warm weather...and battle off the absolute dread I feel for the upcoming winter. I've always said I couldn't live here with out my little monster tractor with snow thrower, due to the feet of snow we can get here and the 'tunnel' of driveway off the garage that is constrained by a fence and a retaining wall. I've spent 24 years keeping that old tractor(s) running and now it's all dying on me, can't fix it anymore....couldn't hardly run it the last couple years. I feel ya!!!!

I am not sure how we will manage...

And somehow, even though we make more money than we used to... we have a harder time paying all the bills...

Crazy the price jumps that have been happening...

It would be nice to hire someone else to plow us out all winter. :th

If we get a deep enough fall, I'll have to hire it out, problem is can they get the 'tunnel' between the fence and retaining wall right in front of the garage...without creating a deep ice pack. Lat time I had to hire it(only second time in 24 years) I was able to push(too wet to throw) that part clear with the thrower so he could back up to push the rest away. Now the tractor is dead.
