BYC Café

Good evening, Cafe!

I brought a freshly brewed pot to share. :caf

Just finished cutting hedges and mowing the lawn again, hopefully for the last time this season.

After another recent stint at the stroke unit, DH is still in recovering mode and not able to do much gardening yet. But we were lucky again, it could have been worse.

The dogs enjoy the cooler weather and more bike outings with me and the chickens moult comes to an end, finally. It is two weeks that I only get one or two eggs a day!:barnie

On top of all the range or more precisely the oven broke down leaving us and our house guest (and his dog) without home made bread and pies. But the new range arrived today and we will install it after dinner.

I hope you are all fine enjoying Halloween and Indian summer.

Does your hubby have Atrial Fibrillation?

This had a lot to do with my hubby's stroke.

There is a pocket in the atrium that has an area that clots collect in.

They put a "WATCHMAN" in the atrium and skin grows over it and stops the collection of clots.

It's murky as all get out because of pruning the lilies and pulling out all the string algae. In a couple of days it should settle out to the bottom and I'll flush the bottom drain two more times before shutting that down.

As far as the medical examinations went that is not it.

They still don't know what causes the strokes, but so far it appears to be related to allergic reactions.

But they are not done with him yet, he still has to undergo several more examinations. They just released him for now as there was not enough room for all the new incoming patients in critical condition.

That's very interesting.

If you find out what the cause is would you please let me know?
Will do.

And yes, it is interesting and frightening at the same time. At first doctors were absoolutely sure they never heard of any relation between strokes and allergic reactions, but now they seem more interested in investigating and thinking a bit out of the box.

Good Afternoon, Cafe’!
I’m hanging out with grandsons (3 1/2 years and 11 1/2 months) while their parents are hunting. I have a serious problem in my house. The basement floor is lava, and if that wasn’t bad enough, there are Krakens in the lava! Fortunately, we have a Kraken killer (it looks a lot like a blue pool noodle) that shoots swords at the Krakens. Whew! Never a dull moment…

Will do.

I hope they can get things figured out for him.

I'm up early sitting beside my wife as she didn't come to bed last night like she normally does. She seems to be breathing OK but I am concerned. I normally am up earlier than she is to take care of the chickens and put the coffee on so when she wakes up it is ready. I see the problem. I've got t wake her up. She's breathing through her mouth and not getting oxygen through her nose piece.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

I'm not sure how much is left in my pot seeing how I only made 1/2 pot and been up since 3:15 but it's FRESH, HOT and READY. There's also tea bags and hot cocoa packets next to the coffee pot if Y'all want that instead.
Hope Y'all set whatever clocks you needed to set back an hour before going to bed or waking up and getting confused like I did seeing how my phone said 3:15 but the Micro, Stove and Coffee Pot all read 4:15 so after taking dogs potty while waiting for coffee I fixed them.
Today it's supposed to be another good day here in Central VA so after FH and I go grocery shopping we're coming home to do yard work- rake pine needles in the front yard to the curb (I'm actually thinking about getting BOTH leaf blowers [gas power for him and electric for me] out so that way we can get them in one area and rake from there then EITHER next weekend or even later this week we're going to start decorating for Christmas I know I know it's early but we have so many [7 black and yellow totes and 3 Rubbermaid totes] and so much that it's going to take us a couple weekends to get it all done and we want a head start on it all so we're not scrambling to get it done. I guess our friends up the street want a FRIENDLY competition with us to see who can have a better decorated house/yard YUP I WILL POST PICS OF BOTH HOUSES ONCE WE GET OURS AND THEY DO THEIRS SO Y'ALL CAN VOTE TOO!
