Today is the last Friday of work for a friend of mine. She does work on the 29th, a week from today, but that won't be Friday, that will be Lastday.


I hope they have some kind of celebration. From all accounts, she is a very good employee.

But, DANG! she needs to be retired! I really (REALLY) hope she learns to relax and destress. I want to know happy Kathy again.

Gloomy and rainy for the next 4-5 days, then the temps drop but the sun comes out.

Got groceries this morning, fryers were down so no fried chicken had to settle for McD's.
Just glad to be stocked up on food stuffs for the next week or so.

Our next foray into anything more than 1 mile away is slated to be December 27th when we meet some friends for lunch. Other than that, I don't have plans to go anywhere. Fine by me!!

Hospice will be evaluating DH next Thursday morning. Sis told me to call Mercy House this morning to ask them for an evaluation too, to get him on the wait list so when the time comes I can get him out of that hell hole and into Mercy House.

Yesterday I discovered the likely reason I was never contacted about DH getting sick shortly after he was moved to the dementia ward. DHs son (most of you will recall the fun I've suffered at his hands) submitted the original HCP/POA that was revoked by the one DH and I had and the team on the dementia floor honored it! I have no idea how the correct legal documents that I submitted when he arrived at Absolut did not get attached to his file and sent down when they moved him. I was livid. I went up one side and down the other of the new case manager about it. It was HER responsibility to ensure she had a valid document and not just assume "well, they are his children and I am not his wife so it must be valid".

The hospice coordinator sent my HCP/POA to her and the case manager sent her over DHs file for review before the hospice nurse assigned to the case visits him. Sis already talked to her and told her the entire story and she said there is no way DH won't qualify.

I will be spending some time this morning copying photos of DHs over to a thumb drive. The kids had asked for them when we were still on speaking terms. I can't stand either of them but DH would want them to have the photos so I will spend several hours compiling the digital and printed photos for them. I'll leave them at the nurses station to give to them the next time they visit.
