BYC Café

Coffee is ready.
Oh no, say it isn't so!
I'm not surprised.

It's 7F now but going up to mid-40s today.

I took the girls for a little over 2 hour hike yesterday in State Game Lands with miles of trails and a few lakes. It's less than 12 miles from my house and I've never been. I met up with M&S and Brodhi. Brodhi and Piper kept running way ahead and Bella stayed glued to my leg or S's leg. It would be nice to have a dog that is a blend of the two traits.

I may take the girls on another long hike today before the temp comes up above freezing.

We have our 75mph breezes and then 60mph tomorrow and then continued breezy all week.

Anything over 40MPH is a gale, leave the term 'breezes' for us light weights ;)
Yeah, we in MI get breezes @Mtn Margie gets gales:

Sorry, bit of a weather nerd here.

Me too! Mostly due to the really good team we have on our local station, WOOD in Grand Rapids. Ellen Bacca, the chief meteorologist, likes to explain things, and does a good job. Like how wind fetch can create lake effect snow, or erosion along the Lake Michigan shore.

From somewhere, via google:
"Wind fetch is defined as the unobstructed distance that wind can travel over water in a constant direction. Fetch is an important characteristic of open water because longer fetch can result in larger wind-generated waves. The larger waves, in turn, can increase shoreline erosion and sediment resuspension."
