BYC Café

This was one of my mother's many sayings. To her, acting old was constantly whining and complaining about the aches and pains, constantly judging others, and expecting to be waited on hand and foot. I ascribe to her feelings.
You just described my mother.

You just described my mother.
A complaint from my mother when she was 85 years old. "This getting old stinks. I can only work 4 or 5 hours until I have to take a break." I replied, "You work more in a day than many your age do in a week." She loved to garden and can/freeze vegetables and fruit. She also made the best jellies I have ever eaten. One of my jobs was finding/picking the wild fruits she especially loved. Wineberry jelly and wild strawberry jelly and jam - :drool

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready ☕.

I slept hard last night. And long. I didn't get up until 7! Must have needed it.

I still have lots of unfinished jobs to putter with. I'm going to try to finish mulching the garden and house. Then clean the coop tomorrow. I never got my help with that and now everyone is gone on vacation. M, Brohdi’s mom, offered to come help. I'm going to accept when normally I wouldn't.

I had to drive to Binghamton yesterday to discuss with my doctor's office how they, for the FOURTH time, didn't fill out forms correctly and had to tell them, AGAIN, what was needed to get MY INJECTION AUTHORIZED!!!! Maybe the fifth time will be the charm. If the receptionist would just let me speak to the doctor or his arrogant PA, this all would have been cleared up with the last submission.
The fifth time wasn't the charm.

I went to the office again. I asked the receptionist if I could speak with the doctor and was answered with an adamant NO.

So the arrogant PA came out and I reiterated the ridiculously high number of attempts for them to properly fill out a form that had resulted in rejection after rejection. I was much more professional and polite about it about it but was boiling on the inside. She then told me that she would look at it over the weekend and would resubmit on Monday. There was no reason that she couldn't have reviewed those forms and filed it yesterday instead of waiting until next week. I looked away, said thank you, left and drove straight to my PCPs office.

I told the receptionist there that the messaging system for Ascension is down so I couldn't contact her any other way. But I told the receptionist the whole sorted story and I was again in tears by the time I got to the end of it. I begged her to tell my doctor what was going on and ask her what I should do at this point. It had been 7 weeks since I'd seen the orthopedic doctor and I still had no proper treatment for my condition other than prescription after prescription of pain meds. I'd love to know the condition my liver is in by now.

Good morning and it is time to coffee-up!
There are at least 3 fledging magpies that the parents are feeding. DH and I were going to cut up my neighbor's big pine that came down but when I looked it over, there was one of the little beasties sheltering up in it, so we dealt with the pieces of the trunk and a shattered aspen.
Today, I am going to plant the lower garden plot and see what happens!
Enjoy the day, Cafe!

That is so hard to hear. Hope to hear good news that they have diagnosed you and you are doing well

Oh I have a diagnosis. I have a ruptured disc in my lower back. It is impinging the nerve feeding my left leg and without heavy pain meds, that basically leaves me crippled and not able to do anything. My doctor wants to give me a nerve block injection. That's standard treatment for this kind of injury to see if it will help without having to have surgery.
