Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I left Jody's door open just wide enough so that she could go out as needed for more water (even though she has the baby bottle in there practically hanging in her face) because of the 95F heat we had yesterday.

When I did lock up imagine my surprise to see fickin' Savannah had muscled open the door, drove Jody off her nest and settled in with her three chicks!!

I yanked her out and tossed her on the floor of the coop then flushed her kids out and shut the door to the ward. Poor little Jody was up on the biggest pile of eggs she could find in a nesting box. It took her a while to settle back on her nest in the ward. I'm going to have to keep the door completely closed for the duration of the incubation and manage all her breaks.

Rip Roaring storm last night...continuous thunder and lightning.
Enough rain heavy and fast enough to flood the garage.
No 90° days, and a few 50° nights, in the 10 forecast.
Ahhhh.

Under-run stayed dry but lots of erosion paths in the rest of run.
The drain pit is clogged, not sure how or if to fix it....but it's on my mind, could end up being some semi-major reconstruction.
Not sure I am up to it.

Hello everyone. I'm sure happy to have some Coffee. Rain yesterday and today. So thankful even though my Sammy Jo is afraid of thunder.

When the Princess got evaluated for her last pair of glasses, the doctor suspected that she had the beginnings of macular degeneration. We just got back from a retinal specialist, and he does not think that is the case.

Found Savannah back in a nest box again last night. When I pulled her out, I could feel all the quills coming in. She's begun a pretty good molt.
Fabio appears to be molting one feather a night.

When my ladies are at the pin cushion stage, I relax the "no sleeping in the nest boxes!" rule. They must be pretty uncomfortable.
