Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I've been battling hornets and yellow jackets this year. I've had 4 nest under my woodshed roof and 4 under the deck. It's hard to get them under the deck because the spray doesn't spray upside down. One nest that I thought I'd gotten became very active again and Brodhi got stung on his left front leg yesterday. He wouldn't walk on the leg. I looked and looked for a swollen spot but found nothing. I gave him a Benadryl.

This morning he is completely back to normal.

Last night, I soaked the area under the deck where I think the nest is. I'll know this afternoon if I nailed it or not.

It rained and we are supposed to get more, of course because there is an Ice Cream Social planned. High of 60 today so I might just be needing a side of coffee to warm back up!

That's where all these traps are....I get a few infiltrations a few times a year. Usually snap 2-3 then a reprieve. Thinks the garage flooding might have upped the count.


The last thing I want in my house is a cat(s), they would wreak more havoc trying to catch the mice than the mice themselves.

The cats will be out door cats. I’m hoping to get them young, house them near the chickens, and let the chickens school them as to how to behave around poultry.

Had dinner with M&S when I took Brohdi home last night. Piper licked out about 1/2 the grease drip pan under the grill while we were eating outside on the deck. She's such at idiot!

Good morning and thanks for the coffee!
The sun came out about halfway through the ICSocial and it was a crew of old mtn folk that showed up (12), 1 kid, and 2 teens.
It is 42F outside but now the rain is done and the week is supposed to heat back up. There is smoke high in the air and the sunrise is very red.
I also hope Piper is unaffected by her indulgence!
