Why would a squirrel lick a window screen?
Little gray squirrel has been bopping around my front deck and climbing up the kitchen windows the last couple days. Have chased it off more than few times. This morning I observed it clinging to the window screen and fervently licking it. Banged the window but it was back in a few minutes doing it again. I stormed out the front door and stomped my feet on the deck, "get outta my yard and stay out!!"
Haven't seen it since. Hope it stays away, I hate squirrels, but still wondering WTF!?

My pet squirrel never did that. I have had baby squirrels that had their mother killed come up to me and sit on my feet! So of course I had to feed them. I am such a criminal!

I brought in skunk kit Grandma never said a word.
He stayed like till it was full size then went about it's way.

The hen door has been open for 2 days now. There has been a veritable parade of hens and Fabio coming and going from the maternity ward. Yet the 3MCs have yet to muster the courage to go out and explore. And not a single bird has offered them even the slightest bit of aggression.

It's starting to get too hot again.

It's going to be hot today and tomorrow. There's a chance of storms coming through tomorrow, indicating that the weather should break and get rid of the heat and humidity. Trading it for possibly severe weather.

I'm going to can 7 quarts of tomatoes today. I think that will be the end of it for the year. Usually I'm not done until the first/second week of September, but everything is early this year.

The only other thing I might can is green (mild) salsa for me. We did two batches of hubby's blowtorch salsa, and he thinks he has enough for the year.

It rained quite a bit here with more to fall today.
We had a great time hanging out with the family. Next weekend is Labor Day... Wow! Time is screaming by for sure.

Back to school for me, so processing garden goods has come to a big slow down. Freezing things during the week, processing on the weekends.
