We got the shower pieces home. Hubby built a flatbed conversion for our trailer for <$60. Whew.

@DobieLover, Menards didn't have either Sharkbite or Appolo Pex fittings. They had some other brand, Sioux Chief. So if we do Pex, we have to find the fittings somewhere else.

Someone who travels in his motor home said that those are being built with Pex plumbing nowadays. They must stand up well to a lot of vibration, I'd think.

It was a while ago but I found Sharkbite fittings on line and they were priced the same as my local plumbing supply store.

Let's see... what else... The garage of the house next door (2 car garage) is too short front-to-back for even a compact car. Maybe a Smart-for-2 car would fit.

This is the only house I've ever lived in that had a basement that did NOT have a floor drain. Eventually, something will leak, or the water heater will fail. It is NOT fun to try to sweep water into a dust pan. Ok, one thing we did figure out: All the low spots in the floor. None of them are near the exterior door.

The ceiling in the bathroom was NOT poly'd, so it was hopelessly stained with mildew. The only way to clean it off would be to sand it. We decided to do a dropped ceiling and install a vent fan, since it is the dampest room in the house, being the bathroom.

I think that he must have built these houses before they invented the carpenter's square. Back when corners hadn't been standardized to 90 degrees. You know, when anywhere from 88 to 93 degrees was the norm.

Nope. Google says that Silas Hawes patented one in 1819. This guy has no excuse for unsquare corners.

Well, yeah, you're the first here! It's not even 5:30.
I was up at 5 and would have brewed a pot but was busy cleaning up "Lake Bella" from my kitchen floor. AFTER I walked through it, of course. Time to reduce the prednisone for her. The swelling is way down.
