BYC Café

Morning all!
I don't have any extra pot of coffee but I can make some if we need it.
I don't know for sure yet but Hubby and I MIGHT acquire 2 DUCKS (male and female). I have never had ducks so I don't know much about them. I do know they require feed, water and pool plus a house to get out of the weather and they produce eggs but other than that I'm out of my element PLEASE SEND HELP!!!!!
Don't keep a drake in with hens. They can kill them.

Have a great time, @DobieLover! Please share some pictures.

Happy Trails!

Safe travels! Enjoy your time!

@DobieLover ---Have a wonderful time

Have a great vacation @DobieLover.

Safe travels, DL!
I am off to a very rocky start.
I was scheduled to fly out of Syracuse at 5:41 pm to get a connecting flight at 8:20 in Detroit then arrive in Seattle around 10:45. Stay at a hotel with plenty of time to get to the pier tomorrow.

Got a text this morning, that I didn't get until late because I was running around without my phone trying to get things done. It was a notification that my flight out of SYR was running 1.5 hours behind. It was due to land 20 minutes after my connecting flight took off. Fabulous.

I called Delta and said, please fix this.

Okay. Now I'm scheduled to fly out of Ithaca into JFK then out to Seattle. But the flight leaves at 3:00. I scrambled and we got the airport at 2:10. I stand in the only line for the only representative to check me in. She's got a "complicated check in" she's trying to process. We wait and wait. FINALLY gets to me and the couple behind me at 2:43. We are told we cannot board. They closed check in for that craft 1/2 hr before takeoff.

We were informed that we were in the wrong line. That we were in the line for United, not Delta.

But, sir, there was no one behind the desk there.

Long, short, the guy rebooked me for a morning flight that would get me to Seattle by 10:15 am but I had a tight layover in JFK. Just 30 minutes. I can manage. We go home. I look at my boarding passes. The layover is actually 1 minute. OMG!

Back on the phone with Delta. After about 15 minutes of trying to stuff me onto a flight that had a seat I will land in Seattle at 12:19 pm. Gives me just over 2.5 hours to get to the pier that is 26 minutes away.
The kicker: We had to drive 2.5 hours to Rochester to connect in Atlanta. I didn't want C driving back home at 4:00 in the morning after leaving the house at 1:30 to get me to the airport 2 hours before my 6:00 am flight.

So I'm sitting on a lounge in the airport now and will spend the night here. At least I found this lounge I can lay down on.

I hope things are better in the morning.

Oh. And to make it up to me, Delta sent me a meal voucher. For $12. That ought to get me a cup of coffee...

Sure. But I've been through a lot worse.
I lost my payment for the hotel because it was a no cancellation booking. I'm fine with that as long as I get on that ship.
I actually feel asleep quite readily using my carry on as a pillow and my coat as a blanket and slept from about 10:30 to 4:15. I feel okay and am through TSA waiting at the boarding gate!
