BYC Café

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I ended up working remotely until nearly 8:30 last night to get my hours in and was bantering HTG while doing so. He is very distracting.

Any way, the shot was not something I'd recommend for a good time. But it absolutely helped! Not all the pain is gone but it has been improved by about 50% which puts me in a very good place. I am now going to continue focusing on strength training with a lot more gentle stretching now that the piriformis has been taken care of.

I can now tell that my S1 nerve is still in play and that I should start carefully stretching it as well so I will get the Teeter adjusted to me again and start doing a minute or 2 of decompression every morning and work my way up depending on how it goes. That poor nerve! I really made a mess of it.

And the nurse told me as I was walking out to give my body at least one full year to recover after spinal surgery. I liked that news too. I'm very optimistic about a full recovery.

Oh. And one kinda neat thing happened at the end of the injection. She must have slipped the needle through the piriformis a bit just before extracting it and hit the S1 because my leg gave a big jerk. She asked me if I was okay and I told her that it wasn't me. It was an involuntary movement. It startled me as much as her!

Good Morning All,

Great to hear that you are doing well @DobieLover

I am having sachet coffee now because I am too lazy to get down the store room to get a new instant coffee. I am so negative these days, too much physical ache and pain, insect bites. I feel good whenever I am in the garden and I feel physical ache and pain whenever I am in the house.

DL, I am SO glad your shot went well!

High of 74 here today, and the breeze is picking up. We won't need a fire in the woodstove tonight.

Hubby brought down a horrible widow maker limb yesterday, and got it cut up. We brought up the logs, and the operative word is "up" because it was halfway down a steep hill. Definitely got our steps and cardio in for today.

We're supposed to get some rain tonight, and I sure hope we do. It's dry out there.

I didn't have a fire last night. A bit of a chill in the house this morning so I just lit a small fire this morning. Supposed to get to the low 60s today.

I keep checking the pond to see if the plumbing line from the bog to the Helix filter has thawed. Not yet. I can't get the water going through the filters without that line opened up. And the pond really needs it!

I fished out 3 dead frogs (2 in the skimmer, one at the bottom) and was clearing string algae from the bog when I grabbed a gob of what I thought was string algae from out the middle but was, in fact, a well rotted, slimey, bloated dead frog. I GRABBED it!! I barfed in my mouth a little. Then sprang to my feet and walked off doing the "I'm completely grossed out, OMG I'm going to barf" dance. Yuk! 🤮 🤮 🤮
