BYC Café

This guy is HUGE. He's in the woodshed. He'll probably hunt at the pond before long.

Still okay but the diarrhea is back and still weak. I started the hard deworming last night. At least he survived it. He is still acting unusual. I'll finish the deworming and then do an internal "sanitization" of the whole flock by running acidified copper sulfate through them for 3 days via their water supply. Then try to rebalance his (and the entire flock's) GI system by adding the carrot soup that @LaFleche suggested to their fermented mash for about 5 days.
Fabio is working very hard to hang in there and he is lucky to have you help him through it. Fabio will pull through in the end, he has a big job to care for his kids. ❤️

Do you put anything else in carrot soup? I might do that for my flock.

I don't think so. He just isn't bouncing back the way they do when you are treating something curable.

I haven't started it yet. I'm waiting until he and the girls get their last dose of wormer.
Wowzer that is ugly to boot Dobie.
I think he's stunning! :love Big gorgeous snake doing his job to keep mice away.

Good Morning Everyone,

I just put my first cup of coffee on the table, it is smelling so very good. This make me wonder what life was life before coffee comes along.

It is raining over here, cloudy and cold. I am having citrus peels in the oven, this give out a warm comfy smell that radiate most of the house.

Yesterday, the youngest hen was challenging the elder hen in the flock. No respect for the elder, what is up with these young chickens! I must admit I spoil rotten this young hen Adzuki.

I broke up their fight, and I will keep a close watch. I do not want my elderly hen injured.

Have a great day all.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I pruned the water lilies yesterday. I have about a dozen tubers to sell along with some marginal plants. I still have to prune the lotus and more marginals.
That was some serious work. After removing the lily mass from the pots I pressure washed all the pots and crates then repotted the tuber sections I kept, fed them and got them repositioned in the pond. One slid off it's crate stack and I had to reach to the bottom of the pond to retrieve it and the water flowed down the front of my waders. That is an unpleasant feeling, 80 degree weather or not.
The fish were spawning this morning.

Yesterday I picked 4+ pounds of rhubarb, and set it to macerate overnight in the fridge. Today I'll make rhubarb jam, and then can it.

I'm going to make a small batch first, and try something different. My recipe has cinnamon in it, so I thought I'd try a bit of clove too. But I'm not brave enough to do it with the whole 4 pounds.
