BYC Café

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

@SkyAJK he looks like he might be a mix. I can't enlarge the attachment to get a better look. If you are having reservations about keeping him because of the noise, you need to have a plan in place on what to do if you have to rehome him. I hope he works out for you. Roosters are a pure delight and I love having them in my flock. Fabio's absence has been felt deeply by all involved.
Thank you. I am too missing having a rooster around, they are so magical. Rooster do so many thing caring for his flock, I still have the image of Fabio looking at his kids, that conveyed so much his knowing/feeling/thinking.

I don't have a better picture, I had ask the seller to confirm that this a bantam rooster, but they did not reply so I don't have a rooster.

Edit to say that initial contact the seller told me that he crows short and low sound, I thought that is perfect. The seller does not put a phone contact.

Good Morning,
It is 8am Thursday over here. I had a tall big cup of tea while doing my chicken business.

Having my first cup of coffee now with powder milk as this will stop my coffee go cold so quickly.

The only reservation I had about that rooster is if he is not a bantam because he is for my bantam flock and my area is not allow to have rooster so a bantam rooster is excellent. I will be thinking about rooster again!

This morning I found 2 eggs without shell. 1 is from my 1 year old Isa brown, she has been on and off Calcium Citrate D+ for a few months now. Each time I stopped the med once her egg had calcium pimples, all was good for a week, then back to no shell and so the calcium is back on and off again. In this run they have everything they needed and crushed to almost powder eggshell provided.

2nd egg no shell...Who done it? Non of the hens in this run are laying. I checked their vents, no sign of that they are laying, all finished their molted.

Have a great day everyone.

What are you feeding?
Do you have oyster shell on the side?
Eggshells are more of a treat than anything else.
