BYC Café

Good Morning
Making tall big cup of tea.
It has been raining since last night, so much so that my TV reception is interrupted. Still the rain is going to now 6:10am Monday morning.

Here is wet/muddy/soggy ground. My windows are closed, but I can hear the howling sound of the wind. I feel the chill.

Blood test resulted high cholesterol, must ease on the egg eating business.

For a week now, I only let my chicken out for an hour each time, twice a day. In their run most of the day they eat all their feed, they eat proper food and hopefully the no shell egg is a thing of the past.

It is exciting that you have a rooster @DobieLover , the cuties sound baby rooster try to crow. A new chapter for your flock, new man on the block.

Last year we had our baby rooster living in our kitchen because mother hen kicked babies out at 5 weeks precisely. We heard this adorable sound of our baby rooster trying to crow, it brought a smile on our faces, and it made our day.

Thank you @Mtn Margie I do hope so too, but the rain is here now.

Have a wonderful day all.

I haven't just sat out and relaxed in the run with my peeps for a very long time.
Below we see my crowing girl, Annie, perched on the broody breaker.
One of the Fab 4 desperately looking at another band member grazing on the other side of the run wall.
Savannah having a dust bath in the right corner of the coop. Why they thought that was a great spot to dig a hole I'll never know.
You can just make out the other 2 band members against the coop wall near the breaker and their arch nemesis, the white cockerel from Savannah's brood, near the pop door. He gets such a charge out of chasing them around.

Here he is in an earlier picture.

And later sun bathing while his sisters talk about him on the perch.

I appear to have 2 ermine pullets, 2 ermine cockerels, the white boy, 3 black cockerels and 2 black pullets from Savannah's hatch.
Out of the Fab 4, I appear to have three pullets and one cockerel.
I may or may not keep the white boy. I'm picking up more ermine eggs tomorrow in New Jersey to slip under Astrid. She's been waiting for 2 days for hatching eggs. She locked on to the wet nest almost immediately. If I get a white male out of Astrid's hatch, I'll likely keep him instead of the white boy.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee!
Mostly a cooler rainy day with a high of 62F.
My health issue friend(aka DAF) almost fell the other day, pulled leg muscles, now has a hard time driving again...asked for a ride to the pharmacy to pick up meds yesterday, so I got some shopping done. The prize was local porkchops and we smoked them...:yesss:
Today with the weather being such, we will get MORF's shopping done and I will prep for three days of grandkid sitting. I am just going to stay there and hang out.
Enjoy the day, Cafe!

Good morning I have turned into a short order cook now.
Need to vent he knows I will make him eat eggs if he won't eat a tri tip.
