I don't know if hubby would go for that. I might ask, just to find out if he's changed his mind.

Why is he opposed?
I use Tritronics collars. There are 10 levels of stimulation for correction as well as an audio warning.
Before the collars ever go on them they are trained what that command means. When they know it very thoroughly then you put the collar on and back up the command with the audio warning. If they do not immediately obey the command you give them the lowest level stimulation that gets a reaction out of them. They don't need to be screaming and flailing. And you never ever use it if you're pissed at them. That's just abuse.
I've been using them for 30 years now and they're very effective if used correctly. I've been able to make it very clear that the dogs are not allowed to chase deer or run out into the street. They just don't do it.

We're heading down to NJ this morning for the last batch of hatching eggs to complete my breeding flock. I'm really hoping for a white cockerel from these eggs. I have one but I know this breeder has no recessive white genes hiding in her flock.

What a long day! It was enjoyable for the most part. I got 13 eggs without incident. It was 95 down there so we stopped at an ice cream stand for some ice cream. I brought some rotisserie chicken for the girls for a snack to hold them over because they were getting a late dinner. We hit some very nasty weather on the way back. The rain was coming down so hard that we had to slow to about 35-40 mph. Weird thing is, I was totally chill and relaxed during it. Normally I tense right up and have a sore back by the time I get home. Not this time.
Astrid in the zone. Now on her future babies. This is her 4th time being a mom.

Astrid rolled the same egg out from under her twice in the same day. I removed it. She must know something I don't know or she can't fit it under herself well enough to incubate all 13. But the first time she rolled it out, I marked it before tucking it back in. So I know she rolled it twice.
