BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is 48F this am. DL, you can keep your bear.

We had a nice time with the family yesterday.
DS$ bought some "stay on the ground" fireworks and the GS thought those were the best thing ever. We did not go out, we just watched the neighborhood do their thing and it was pretty good, LOL!
Enjoy the weekend Café!

I was out weeding around the pond landscaping just now when the dogs started to go crazy inside the house. I turned around to see if I could see the deer I assumed they were barking at. I didn't see anything so I kept weeding.

They started to escalate their barking. I turned around again and saw this beautiful guy pop out of the woods no more than 30 ft from me.

He ambled across my yard, around the back of my shed, popped back out into my yard, passed behind the solar panels into the neighbor's yard, went along the back side of my hedgerow and then popped back into my yard and crossed the ditch and road into the widow's yard. The neighbor estimates he weighs between 400 to 500 pounds.
It was quite the adrenaline rush. I have never been that close to a bear that size before.
Can I pet that dawg?

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

We did our July 4th celebration BBQ yesterday. It was fun. I would have had a much better time had I not hit and killed a fawn on the way down the road. I didn't even see it. I saw mom on the right side of the road. I always slow down and steer away from deer at road side. Her fawn was trying to make its way across the road but was so low to the ground I didn't see her and hit her. I hit the brakes hard enough that Piper got tossed onto the floor behind my seat. I was so upset about it I just dropped off the burger mix I'd made and left. My sister and C came up to talk me into coming back.
