Good Morning,

4:40am over here, and I am drinking powder milk with cinnamon....I drank too much coffee yesterday that I can not stand coffee anymore, and I run out of tea so..milk it is. Milk is good for my old bones.

The visit to the Poultry Markets yesterday was......grrrrr sad, less than 10 sellers, mostly selling live stock chickens/ducks and a rooster surrender stand. I did not see the rooster I wanted, but I felt sorry for a tiny frizzle Pekin rooster, so I got him for $25. I am emotionally suffered heartache since yesterday I saw another tiny Pekin rooster threw into a big enclosure with other big roosters and he was attacked.

Since last night the rooster I got sneeze a few times and his enclosure smells this morning, not the poop smell and also he has a bit of a running nose. Yesterday I gave him a bath, blow dry and trim his feet feathers. I will start treating him after I finish my morning chicken tasks so that I don't infect my flock. He is living in my kitchen at the moment, and he will be quarantine for 30 days.
I do not want to go to another poultry market ever again.

I don't know he has a real infection/illness or because the weather is so cold and he was cold. He was in an metal enclosure, and it was a bit windy yesterday. I will treat him as if he has an respiratory infection and an infectious condition.

Sally you wants rain, ....I wish I can send you the rain you wanted, Over here, it was down pouring rain late yesterday afternoon well into the night. In just a short space of time my chickens runs are flooded. When I step on the ground, my feet submerged, mud spilled over covering my feet....not happy at all..NOT happy!!

If he does have a respiratory infection he's going to be a carrier for life. This is the number one reason why I will never go to a poultry trade to bring anything home.
And thank goodness you quarantined him. Most people don't and they bring the infection home and immediately spread it to the rest of their flock. Good luck with him!
