BYC Café

Good Morning 🌻

Having my first cup of coffee now, I am hoping for warm sunny day, but that is not going to happen. We got lot of rain throughout last night. Some other areas have hailstorm and this is the ice block on the news website. It will certainly be serious injury if it lands on one's head.Have a great day 🌻

I'm dreading tomorrow. I'm going to start looking online for insurance for next year. Hubby and I are both retired, so we have to find our own. I'm 15 months away from Medicare, hubby another 11 months after that. Well, IF it's still available at 65 by the time we are that age.
Is it very expensive to get private health fund at retirement age over there?

Over here it is very expensive to get private health fund at retirement age, they will exclude many things like hips/knees replacements..etc... they will have it with a hefty price and waiting time is about 12 months. The private health fund has this thing that get it now at this price or after this age it will cost more.

The Government contributes roughly 50% if one buy private health fund, one only need to if the income is $100K a year, if one does not buy private health fund, then the 1.5% penalty fee on the income. Dental is an exceptional beast, only people receive 100% government assistance can go to public dental. Even that, public dental is so full that they give the person a voucher of $210 to go to private dental for teeth check and clean. There are private dental accept that price. But most dental cost $250 just for cleaning and checking.

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

I bought our round trip tickets from Dulles to Bangkok and back for $830 each. My friend is coming over today so we can nail down lodging and travel in Asia. We already know most of the things we want to see and do, it's just figuring out how long we want to stay at each stop.
