I have caught voles in my green house in mouse traps. I mash a peanut into the bait tray so they have to get closer to it and then set off the trap.

Good morning! Thanks for the coffee! Sounds about right on snow forecasting! They were better 40 years ago before they had had all of these modern forecasting programs!

Our local crew does very well, and they have all the new fangled stuff. Lake Michigan is huge factor in our weather. What is happening at the lakeshore is often quite different from what happens 20, 30, 40 miles inland.

This time of year, they factor in how the lake effect snow can set up in bands, and a slight change in the wind strength or direction can drastically change the amount of snow an area receives, or doesn't.

Hedging their bets? Covering their butts? No, I think of it as giving us the information to the best of their ability, and acknowledging that Mother Nature is capricious.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! I slept well after working and playing yesterday.
Today is chicken sunroom day! Yesterday's list got hijacked by small children after cleaning up the downed tree. No snow and no wind and 50+F degrees today, beautiful!

Rain is back. We are in the 50 here also.
I did empty my pistol on rats trying to get in last night.

Cold and varying shades of grey here. From dark grey tree bark to middle grey skies to white snow.

A small doe has decided to bed down under the chicken coop at night. Lots of them around, so it might not always be the same one.

Good Morning

1st coffee is ready, still dark outside and so quiet.

We were so very hot yesterday that each time I moved my system wanted to pass out. I hosed water under the wings, neck and tails on some of my big feather kids. They were open mouth breathing, eyes closed, wings out, and panting big time. They all under the shade, but the high UV is really bad. More is coming today.

My fat Pekin bantam hen has been broody for 2 days now, i am so happy, this give her a chance to slim down. She eats like a pig and cuteness is herself.

Mouse/rats over here love peanut butter as well. I got those crunchy peanut butter for them.

My mom's place the crows stand watch on the big tree and catch those mouse/rats for her. I saw them tear a mice out...so nasty, but that is nature doing its natural things.
