BYC Café

Good Morning

1st coffee is done and now kettle is working on 2nd. Over there you are cold, windy and rain. Over here yesterday around mid morning the heat kicked in and ....I was just so over it. It reported that we are heading into Monsoon season and to expect rain next week...bring it on!!!

I got a drop medication for birds to treat my chickens yesterday and so far I only managed to do half of my flock. I have to put on hold buying the expensive med because I got that $333 speed infringement ticket.

My Mint lash egg hen seem to response well to her 3rd antibiotic, but the true will show once antibiotic end tomorrow. She relapsed 2 before. Any day she digs up my garden is a good day!

My mom was inside her house when she heard constant car honking sound which is quite loud as she was wearing her hearing aid. Mom looked out and and saw her neighbour from across the road - a beautiful young lady in her 30 was mowing the lawn in her bikini on a hot day, no hat..Mom walked over, she stopped mowing, mom says to her that all the car honkings are for you, why do you wear a bikini on such a hot day, without a hat and you are not at the beach? The beautiful bikini lawn mower lady laughed & replied I love it.:lau I wish I can say that I mow the lawn in a bikini, without a hat on a hot summer day too:lau This part remind me of the song You Can Leave Your Hat On - ...take off your shoes, you can leave your hat on..🎶...what's up with the hat business? 😄

Have a wonderful day, keep warm and skiing🏂❄️☃️🎄🎅

Lots of rain here last night and this morning. Warm now but windy temperatures supposed to drop significantly.
That's what we had yesterday. It was as high as 47° but down to 41 by the time I went to bed. 8 hours later, it was 23° and now 20.

Everything froze. I slipped and fell, tweaking something in my left knee. I'm grateful that that's all; a similar slip and fall 11 years ago is how I broke my right wrist.

Hope nothing serious in your knee. Be good to it for a while.

I'm wishing we would NOT get the warm up. 42° on Thursday, with up to a half inch of rain, and then a flash freeze over night.
We have had a very cold December...in single digits, teens and 20's...more like January...then suddenly, we just got over an inch of rain here in Maine...washed away all the snow...very windy...over 100,000 power outages...thankfully our power is still on...but now in the low 20's but still very windy. Also very glad our basement didn't flood like it did a couple of years ago in a similar storm. (When the ground is frozen solid the rain can't absorb into the ground and somehow seeped into our usually dry basement until it was 3 inches deep.)

1st Christmas will be interesting this the first one since I lost my love.

It sucks.

I lost my mom at Christmas. Christmas Day was the last time I saw her, in the hospital. She squeezed my fingers. This was 40 years ago, and I still cry.
RIP, mom. I still miss you, every day. Wish I'd said how much I loved you when I had the chance.
