I barely even turn the news on anymore. I get the weather on my phone I see bits and pieces of the other crap that goes on enough to be informed otherwise, I ignore it.

The wind was just crazy last night. It blew the snow through the screens in the sun room so it now looks like everything is covered in frost.

Well that sounds pretty at least, although I can't say I would look forward to the dampness once it thaws.

It won't thaw. It's going to stay below 25 for the next 6 days. But the room will dry up when the fine snow sublimes due to the low humidity.

Sunny and Breezy here... LOL!
Anything under 80mph is a breeze, sheesh.
Besides checking emails, weather, BYC, and doing any bookkeeping, I stay off of the computer and phone.
I listen to music and read a book. Sometimes, just sitting and meditating by the fireplace is a good thing.
The best way to deal with all the negative stuff out there is to not take it in and keep yourself active with outside "fun" and proper nutrition.
Grow the edible weeds in your garden when the planted seeds fail. Discover the native medicinal plants in your area. Just keep learning new things and that will keep your spirits up, my dear Cafe!

I don't watch it. I scroll through local and national highlights but wont' click on anything I know will just be negative or politically charged.

Most of the time I don't watch the news, but I often see the news when I watch movie on tv and the news come every hour.
I change station, but they all have news on as it is the time of that. I walk away. Sometimes I feel I need to watch it because just in case something I need to know...grrr

Like this year on the news that new law that we are not allow to carry knife anywhere...so the knife my mom has to eat her apple in the car is a No, No now. All sort of traffic laws come in festive season like double demerit points for over the speed limit, law enforcement out in full, every K over the limit is a No, No..etc... then there are so many cyber crime, construction crime, investment crime..etc ...those are just national....New laws come into effect o address those crimes...etc.

I do avoid watching the news mostly.
