BYC Chat - Saying Goodbye to an old friend

I have to say I used it once, my first day as a member. I did get a great answer to my newbie question asap. However every time after that, when I decided to check in, it seemed to be filled with minors and I was treated like an intruder. BYC is a community, not a click. I think the correct decision was made.

I have used chat since last summer and have been helped alot and even help others. Sometime during the evening it was a little hard to have questions answered but never felt like an outsider. I have been on once where stuuf should have been reported but have no clue how to report on chat so I just got off. It will be missed greatly and hopefully the people that I talk to daily will still be able to keep in touch some way on another. But I will stand by what ever the owner wishes.

I am please to see the majority of members posting their support for BYC staff. A site like this takes A LOT of dedication, time and patience, and the staff here are very committed to ensuring that BYC stays a place where people of all ages can gather and share their stories and help each other out.

Someone posted that those of us who do not frequent chat don't understand the level of friendships made there. I can assure you that we certainly do, because we have made those same types of friendships through the boards here.

Keep up the good work, you much loved crew of chicken lovers.

oh sad. i went on chat a few times. but everytime i went there, it wasnt chicken talk. thats okay tho. whatever works to keep making byc a terrific!!! great!!!! awesome!!! forum!!!!! do what you have to do!!!!

It was nice while it lasted. It was not all great times but I will definitely miss it. If anyone that does not have it wants my yahoo messenger addy PM me so we can keep in touch.

Yes the conversations were not always on the critters.
But we got to know each other, learned about each others critters, breeding, asked questions, had fun and just in general sat around talking just like a group around a table at a meetup.
And like in real life not all things were moderated tho we did a pretty good job keeping each other "in line". Not everyone gets along again same as real life and the forums.

This is a social site just as much as its a critter info site and its sad that live chat will no longer be a part of it.

I used the chat feature twice. Once I let within minutes because it just didn't interest me. The second time I left even quicker because there was some REALLY inappropriate language on there and my child was in my lap asking me what they were saying.

im able to police myself and I used the chat accordingly. I am however, a huge supporter of this website and if the Mods/owners feel it's in the best interest to remove the chat feature, and by doing so will enhance my experience here..........................then i'm all for it and I thank everyone for their time in keeping this site going and making the decisions that are not popular.
