I am going to modestly say that I DID IT!

I finally did a real square! and while it looked huge to my newbie eyes, it worked out!!! (it's only a little bigger)...the edges are a little rough, but I am going to leave it to you experts to put that right. Thanks again all for your help. And yes, if I can do it, any other newbies out there can too, believe me!

SO, one down, 32 more to go... I am going to *try* and do them all, but thanks in advance for those of you who have worked on extras for us, just in case!!!

Thats when you know theres never any going back, your hooked for life. You start to walk around the house with a crochet hook tucked above your ear so that when you sit down for even a moment you can hook a bit! LOL. DH says I have totally lost it, but he feeds the addiction every week when he does the grocrey shopping he will suprise me with a new skein of yarn. The only problem is he keeps buying the same type and color of yarn ( lionbrand homespun in candy apple red) so I am not sure it he isn't hinting at something like he wants me to make him a blanket and is to embarrassed to ask? what do ya'll think so far I know have 5 skeins of candy apple red homespun yarn which at my wal-mart ain't cheap at 5.69 a skein. well off to finish some projects I will try to check in later today. Maw.

LOL funny SE....i am waiting on my book too so i will be busy busy busy!!!!
DD wants the cathdreal afghan so i started on that one first...... dont know how its gonna go as i'm a new hooker...so i might be asking alot of questions!

Well I'm an old hooker so I'll be happy to help! lol!! Just yell, seems I've seen that cathedral pattern, it's alot of colors and egg shapes bordered in black? Good luck!! I'm on my 3rd square in the lionbrand.com crochet-along--told Maw she needed to use that red homespun to make herself that sampler afghan..wouldn't that be GORGEOUS!!! I love homespun, beautiful yarn, alittle snaggly to work with but works up sooooo pretty!!

As long as you're ok with changing colors you'll do great and it will be pretty when you're done...pictures are required you know!!!

There are some folks we haven't heard from lately, hope all is well with them...should we put out a hooker alert so they will throw a garter on the corner and let us know they are alright?!

Wow, Scoot *that* is an incredible afghan. (I just googled it and whoa)

I don't envy you trying to do that... but it does make me wish I was better at crochet so I could get a little more creative...but baby steps is where I am at...

Hope everyone has a good night, I am off to hook up another square (with slightly unique edges) and maybe start on my most ambitious project of doing Christmas presents with my new found talent...hope they need scarves.

well scoot I will be right with ya in a day or two on that cathedral window, I am almost done with the star, I did the star in white and 3 shades of purple. But I am going to do the first cathedral in the colors in the pattern then I am going to do one in a pastel colors for sping and maybe one in autum colors for the fall that way I have one for each season. And the next time I work the star pattern it is going to be in greens and white for my grandmother.

Well scrambled I would join if I could use the window pattern as my Cal project.

I have done 3 blankets in the homespun and I just love them. One I made so big that it actually cover the entire couch which is quite large itself.

well ladies I have heard from 3 of our MIA hookers, suess hen might need a little encouragment but may wait till the next swap. Chickngirl is moving right along, and so is Jenjscott who has 17 done already WooHoo! way to hook ladies!
