Karen glad you liked the stickers,i charge $1.50 per dozen and right now my are various shades of brown, i have a few people wanting white eggs but i have no white layers ATM sooooo im gonna be changing the...as soon as my EE gets old enough to lay ill have colored eggs too!!! so exciting! LOL

Hi Karan! Thanks! I don't know what to do about more hens... we have only enough comfortable room for 50 and that will be filled out in the spring...and man the drive to get more was horrifying... and stinky... well not horrifying, but nerve wracking for sure...and stinky

Here's the run down of my egg prices: (Note: it depends fully on your market area and how much eggs are in the store)
1 dozen: 4.50
2 dozen 8.00
1/2 dozen 3.00
Prices reflect a .50 cent carton deposit...bring back carton for deposit return (so half dozen is 2.50 really, 2 dozen a deal at 7.50)

I mix the colors (brown and white) unless people ask me for all one color, and I have enough, and I do not wash them unless they are really bad. My eggs are organic ungraded, so people are getting all sizes, all colors. The whole farm I am on is organic, so my landlord required it. My prices are 50 cents to a dollar less than the organic in the stores and much fresher, of course...
Listen to me... didn't mean to go off on my sales pitch. haha...but that's the run down.

Thanks Shahan I am getting $2.00 a dozen from the neighbor and she sends empty cartons back mine are all brown and I do wash tem when they come in. Just wondered but if my Marans start laying well I will most likely sell them for $3.00.

Sounds like everyone had a great day I spent most of mine exerciseing and riding my horse, me and him took a good long ride down to the creek I walk to every morning takes me about 35 mins to get there so about an hours walking for me but for star (my big red 4-legged chicken, who whinnies) it takes him longer as he has never had shoes and never will, and has done great without them, since I don't ride him all that often, and hes still really lirey of things, but is doing lots better and we only had one scare for him this round, the stone deer in the closest neigbors yard, he was quite sure they were out to get him and where going to eat him or something so we had to snort at them for about 10 mins. so after I picked myself up off the ground from laughing so hard I talked him down and told him that they were really nice raindeer from the north pole here on vacation, and he seemed alright with that and we were on our way again. I did a little hooking this evening on my window and am going to get started on that spider tomorrow after our family adventure to wal-mart and town, so I hope Se and Travis did great at the races tonight and that everyone has a great evening take care my chickadees and I will post you in the morning! Babies arrived today

They all have a 10/1 hatch date, only 2 standard all the rest banties(16) , and have some more coming in next week

I forgot how many I ordered, but she told me that was only a partial order as I am the only one who orders banties

The ones we are pretty sure of what they are : 2 speckled sussex, 2 blue cochin banties, 2 blue frizzle cochin banties, 2 red frizzle cochin banties, the rest we are not sure of, most cochin banties and 4 clean legged banties - we think they are 2 white laced red cornish banties and 2 blue laced red cochin banties.

I just discovered the packing peanut policy and must make sure I change my order tomorrow so I don't end up with 25 roo packing peanuts!!!!

I don't have the room for *that* many!

Congrats on the babies Gapple! So, since you are in Florida, they don't need a heat lamp? Just curious...

still need a heat lamp, that has been my mistake in the past, not thinking they need a heat lamp. I was told I have more fuzzy butts coming in next week. I ordered 2 of different colors and breeds, I will try to match them up by two's and take more pics

The two speckled sussex grew so much over night, you can definitely tell the diff between the bantams and standard. Will take more pics today

Oh and I ended up at JoAnns yesterday, more yarn, trying to keep my mind off of the wait for the babies

I am in such baby chicken envy from those pictures!!!!! Gawd they are CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky, lucky!!!

Athena..post what you need hon and we'll put together a care package..how long are you over there? She told me she was 7 hours ahead of us a'll...hey..maybe she knows if we win the race tonight?!! Or can pick some lottery ticket numbers?!!!! whoo hooo!!! Friends in all the right places!!

Demolition derby last night, qualified 8th, went to third, booted over the side of the track, went to 15th and came back to 4th for a finish..and the man behind us in the points finished 14th..helps a bit..need a WIN tonight and the car was a rocket and the boy had game last night, drove an awesome race!!! Busy day today, hugs ya'll, love the babies!!
