I survived and am back home now. I'm hurting some, but can't take the pain med yet because I can't swallow it!

Hopefully, the pain won't be too bad for a while. Off to go lie down for a bit now.

welcome 1momahen glad to have you on our corner, I found that after reading the pattern everytime for about 8 squares that it stuck and I was able to remember it and whip it out at any time anywhere. those granny square slippers sound nice. I am going to make a granny square house robe. LOL. it will be nice and warm and full or warm fuzzy memories of all my BYC Hooker freinds. YEA!

Darlene what is a record bowl? I have seen you talk about it before but forgot to ask.
I have a list of thing that I want to start learning after the new year, felting, glass bead making, I think I would like to be a yarn dealer too. think of all that yarn!!!!!. I have started collecting some really old yarn and think it is sooo neat. when we get the new house built I have decided that we each (dh and I) are going to build us some little cottage type buildings up behind the house for us to have all our crafts and hunting stufff in, one for him one for me. and I am going to line the walls with yarn make like a floor to ceilling shadow type rack thing to but all my older yarn for display. and all my hooks and such. well gals today is the day we go camping for sure so I won' t be able to catch up with ya'll until friday evening or saturday morning so gals everyone have fun and take care! I love ya gals Maw.

I haven't made those slippers yet, but I think Queen Scoot has made some. Well........... as far as the ole brain remembering things...........after I did the granny square over & over again I could finally just do it automatically without looking at the directions, but now that I haven't done that pattern for a while, I'd have to read it again a few times to refresh the ole brain cells. I have CRS syndrone!!!!!!

No chicks ~ thanks for the explanation of filet crocheting. Your directions make perfect sense. Awesome idea!!!!! I haven't tied that before. No rush, but let me know if you find that pattern.

Here's a little more info to your question on how to tell the sexes of the chickens. Some hatcheries "vent" sex the chicks right after they are hatched by looking at their tiny organ in their vent. Some breeds can be feather sexed. Some are called sex links b/c the male & female have distinct color differences to tell them apart. Unfortunately alot of feed stores might order "straight run", meaning that the chicks aren't sexed before shipping. It's cheaper for them to order that way and a nice way to get rid of the hatchies extra chicks after filling orders or their extra cockerels. When the chicks are about 3 months old you can start to tell the cockerel (male) from the pullet (female) chicks. Even if they are vent sexed it's only about 95% accurate. I've gotten a cockerel in each of my pullet orders.

So after hearing us all talk about chicks is it making you want some?????

East~ Take care of yourself today. I had all 4 of mine pulled at once yrs ago. I made them put me to sleep for the procedure b/c I'm a wimp when it comes to dentist stuff. Hope you are feeling better soon!

If I am off hiding with the chocolate tonight, I'll be thinking of all of you. (I'll save the pudding for you East!)

I kept going back to it and saying to myself, did I misspell anything?! LOL!! I did miss a lot of punctuation, but i could not for the life of me figure out what I misspelled

I only had three wisdom teeth form..weird huh. I guess that means I'm a quarter short on wisdom

East i hope you feel better soon. I have been avoiding it like the plague. I will have to have mine surgically removed and have to be put to sleep for it

I am taking drawing I and Fundamentals of Art this semester. I hope to take ceramics soon. I can't wait to learn to start throwing. I have heard it is really hard from so many people, so I hope I can get the hang of it!
